Bold Mission Media Announces "Vintage Tales": A New Collection of Dark Fables

Shawn Murphy, founder of Bold Mission Media, is proud to announce the launch of Vintage Tales, a new collection of fables designed to explore the depths of morality through the lens of dark fantasy. This announcement coincides with today’s release of the collection’s debut installment, LIFE.

A New Medium for Timeless Lessons

​Inspired by the classic tradition of the Brothers Grimm, the Vintage Tales collection represents a pivot toward shorter, more frequent storytelling. Murphy noted that the format allows for a more agile creative process while maintaining the high stakes of his longer works.

"Writing full-length novels is an intensive process, and I often find a bottleneck of new ideas building up in the interim," Murphy explained. "The fable format allows me to explore these concepts in a way that is quicker to produce and a fun, fast-paced experience for readers. By utilizing a darker, fantastical tone, we can get right to the heart of the moral lesson—exploring spiritual battles and the eternal struggle between good and evil." Shawn Murphy

Beyond Murphy's own work, Vintage Tales is intended to serve as a platform for the broader creative community. Bold Mission Media plans to use this venue to invite other Christian authors to contribute their own perspectives and explore spiritual themes through the series' unique aesthetic.

Following today's release of LIFE, the series will continue with three highly anticipated titles slated for 2026:

Thinskin:
